I had been offered to go to a workshop called Phonetically Speaking in Saskatoon. It took place on November 8-9, 2018 & has been a great help in my classroom. I teach Grade 1 and most of what the students learn in ELA are how to use sounds in words to help read and write them. This workshop helped me learn how to work with their Animated Literacy program. This program explained brain research done for younger students and that’s what the program was based on. It also incorporates dancing, singing, and movement throughout each lesson. This is important to have in a child’s learning to keep them engaged, and to have memorable moments. I think this workshop is beneficial for K-3 teachers to take. I am glad they offered the workshop and I was able to attend it.
